ISN-Wiley-Blackwell-JNC International Lectureships
ISN Council and Wiley-Blackwell, the publishers of the Journal of Neurochemistry, are delighted to announce the first awardees under this new lectureship scheme. Dr Angelique Bordey, Yale University (USA), has received the inaugural award and will deliver a lecture entitled “A Classical mTORopathy: Tuberous Sclerosis” to the annual meeting of the Brazilian Society of Neuroscience and Behavior in Sao Paolo in August 2012. Dr Phillip Robinson, will deliver the second lecture, “Dynamin Modulators in Synaptic Vesicle Endocytosis: A Pathway to New Anti-Epileptic Drugs”, at the Indian Academy of Neurosciences in Amritsar in October 2012. Dr Robinson is from the Children's Medical Research Institute, University of Sydney, Australia.
Under this new lectureship scheme, which is aimed at countries where molecular and cellular neuroscience is developing rapidly, an eminent neuroscientist is nominated as a plenary lecturer by societies of neurochemistry, neuroscience or neurobiology. This scheme recognizes the synergy between the ISN through its journal, the Journal of Neurochemistry, and its publishers Wiley-Blackwell, and the broad goal of the advancement of the science of neurochemistry internationally.
