Aims and Scope

Liver International promotes all aspects of the science of hepatology from basic research to applied clinical studies.

Providing an international forum for the publication of high quality original research in hepatology. It is an essential resource for everyone working on normal and abnormal structure and function in the liver and its constituent cells, including clinicians and basic scientists involved in the multi-disciplinary field of hepatology. It also includes studies of pathobiology from experimental models and human material.

Liver International welcomes articles from all fields of hepatology, which may be published as original articles, rapid communications, reviews, and letters to the Editor. Case reports will be accepted if the clinical problem is studied in detail and of sufficient interest in a wider context. Papers are normally evaluated by a peer review process involving at least two independent reviewers. Within the scope of the Journal, articles will be accepted on the basis of scientific quality, originality and up-to-date relevance.

Invited reviews (both mini-reviews and longer definitive articles) will form a regular feature of the journal as will the inclusion of book reviews, editorials and a correspondence column. The editor and publishers will endeavour to keep publication time to a minimum, to make the latest results in the field, rapidly available.
