Wiley-Blackwell welcomes Peter A. Coclanis as Editor of The Journal of the Historical Society. He is Albert R. Newsome Distinguished Professor of History and Director of the Global Research Institute at University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
Coclanis received his Ph.D. at Columbia University in 1984, and joined the UNC-Chapel Hill faculty the same year. He formerly served as UNC-Chapel Hill’s first Associate Provost for International Affairs, as Associate Dean for General Education, and as Chair of the History Department. He is also an adjunct professor in Economics and a Faculty Affiliate in the Department of Asian Studies. He works in the fields of American, international, and Southeast Asian economic history and has published widely in these fields.
