All manuscripts submitted for publication in the Risk Management and Insurance Review must include an article abstract, the complete titles and affiliations of all authors, and complete contact information-including e-mail address-for the corresponding author. Each manuscript must be submitted as an electronic file in MS Word, WordPerfect, AppleWorks, or another word-processing format compatible with Word. Submissions in Scientific Word will not be accepted. All graphics must be provided in an eps format or other format fully compatible with Pagemaker, and all source data for charts and tables must be included. (At the request of the editors, a hard copy of the manuscript and attendant graphics might be required.)
Upon receipt, each manuscript will undergo preliminary editorial review to determine its basic suitability for consideration in one of the Review's three sections-Feature Articles, Perspectives, or Educational Insights. Manuscripts deemed suitable for consideration as Feature Articles will be sent out to one or more referees for anonymous peer review; manuscripts deemed suitable for consideration in the other two sections might be sent out for anonymous peer review at the discretion of the editors. The entire review process normally takes from six to eight weeks.
Risk Management and Insurance Review has adopted ScholarOne Manuscripts for online manuscript submission and peer review. From now on all submissions to the journal must be submitted online at http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/rmir. Full instructions and support are available on the site and a user ID and password can be obtained on the first visit. If you require assistance, please click the Get Help Now link that appears at the top right of every ScholarOne Manuscripts page.
The submission fee is $140US and includes membership in the American Risk and Insurance Association (ARIA); the submission fee is waived for ARIA members. The preferred form of payment is by credit card. Please go to www.wiley.com to join the association or call at 1-800-835-6770. You will receive a membership number and a receipt from Wiley-Blackwell, which are necessary for submission. Please forward your ARIA member number to the RMIR Editor’s Office.
Authors will be required to assign copyright in their paper to the American Risk and Insurance Association. Copyright assignment is a condition of publication and papers will not be passed to the publisher for production unless copyright has been assigned. (Papers subject to government or Crown copyright are exempt from this requirement). To assist authors an appropriate copyright assignment form will be supplied by the editorial office.
NEW: Online production tracking is now available for your article through Wiley-Blackwell’s Author Services.
Author Services enables authors to track their article – once it has been accepted – through the production process to publication online and in print. Authors can check the status of their articles online and choose to receive automated e-mails at key stages of production. The author will receive an e-mail with a unique link that enables them to register and have their article automatically added to the system. Please ensure that a complete e-mail address is provided when submitting the manuscript. Visit http://authorservices.wiley.com/bauthor/illustration.asp for more details on online production tracking and for a wealth of resources including FAQs and tips on article preparation, submission and more.
