Couples Relationship Education and Couples Therapy: Healthy Marriage or Strange Bedfellows?
Howard J. Markman and Lane L. Ritchie

This articles discusses the similarities and differences between Couples Relationship Education (CRE) and Couples Therapy and argues that the moving CRE toward a more clinical model (as suggested by Bradford, Hawkins & Aker (2015) ) may result in the distinctive advantages of CRE as a wide-reaching service to help couples being lost. We provide suggestions for best practices for CRE that have the potential to move the field forward while still maintaining its empirically supported prevention and education roots.
