Journal of Obstetric, Gynecologic & Neonatal Nursing Virtual Issue: Obstetric Hemorrhage

Reducing the number of women who bleed to death during or after pregnancy and birth is the goal of the AWHONN Postpartum Hemorrhage (PPH) Project. The project is designed to reduce clinician errors associated with obstetric hemorrhage mortality and morbidity by improving clinicians' recognition of, readiness for, and response to postpartum hemorrhage. Hospitals in the District of Columbia, Georgia, and New Jersey are participating in a Quality Improvement (QI) collaborative by receiving expert coaching from a multi-disciplinary Quality Improvement Expert Panel composed of physicians, nurses, and AWHONN staff, and peer coaching and guidance from other participating hospitals.
