Virtual Issue: NGOs

In November 2010, PoLAR: Political and Legal Anthropology Review features a new symposium issue on non-governmental organizations (NGOs). This virtual issue provides a companion to the 2010 issue, bringing together nine articles previously published in our journal on the topic of NGOs. From 1998 through 2009, articles in PoLAR tracked the growing role of international and private organizations in changes all over the globe -- from Nepal to Zimbabwe to Mexico.

For a summary of the new 2010 issue on NGOs, read the introduction -- and be sure to follow PoLAR’s open-access “Spillover Conversations”.

In addition to the articles published in PoLAR, you are invited to read the authors' 'postscripts', supplemental pieces on their research and updates on their work since the publication of their articles.
