The Tosinvest-San Raffaele Group Announces Two Sets of Monetary Awards to Support Scholars with Attending the 14th World Congress of the IASSID, 9-14 July, 2012, Halifax NS, Canada.

Tosinvest-San Raffaele Group – JPPID Scholar’s Award
The Award – in the sum of CAD$ 1,000 – will be presented to up to four authors (or divided among co-authors) who submit an innovative review paper that is judged as outstanding in its content and analysis and will be presented at the 14th World Congress of the IASSID in Halifax. Papers selected for the Scholar’s Award will be presented at a special symposium during the Congress and eligible (following peer review) for publication in the Journal of Policy and Practice in Intellectual Disabilities (JPPID).

Henry Wisniewski Memorial Paper Award
One CAD$ 500 award for an outstanding and innovative paper in the area of health, medical or biological research.

National Award for Professor Jim Mansell

Professor Jim MansellThe Publishers and IASSID, the Editor and Editorial Board of the ‘Journal of Policy and Practice in Intellectual Disabilities' congratulate Professor Jim Mansell, Consulting Editor for the journal, who has been awarded the CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in the New Year Honours List for services to People with Intellectual Disabilities.

Jim Mansell is Emeritus Professor of Learning Disability in the Tizard Centre at the University of Kent, England and Professor of Disability Studies at La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia.
