Editor-in-Chief: Roxie Foster

Roxie Foster, PhD, RN, FAAN, has been the editor of JSPN since October 1998. Dr. Foster is Professor and PhD Program Director at the University of Colorado, Denver College of Nursing. She was the inaugural chair holder of The Children's Hospital Chair of Pediatric Nursing. The Editor-in-Chief [EIC] leads the Editorial Team, is the Journal's primary advocate, and, with the publisher, is responsible for strategic planning and Journal operations. The EIC has primary responsibility for recruiting and publishing high quality, clinically relevant content.

Associate Editor: Lynn Rew

Lynn Rew, EdD, RN, AHN-BC, FAAN, became the associate editor for JSPN in January 2011. Dr. Rew is the Denton & Louise Cooley and Family Centennial Professor of Parent-Child Nursing for the University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing. Her scholarship focuses on sexual health in adolescents. The Associate Editor will solicit and review the submissions of high quality for the journal.

Managing Editor: Kristen Overstreet

Kristen Overstreet, BA, has been in this role with JSPN since November 1999. Her formal preparation is in English and journalism. She oversees day-to-day editorial processes, including the management of online manuscript submission and review, co-authors journal policies and procedures, and communicates and coordinates with authors, reviewers, and publication staff. The Managing Editor edits all accepted manuscripts for grammar and APA style and coordinates changes with the authors prior to production.

Family-Centered Care - Column Editor: Linda S. Franck, PhD, RN, RGN, RSCN, PRCPCH, FAAN

Linda Franck is Professor and Chair of the Family Health Nursing Department at the University of California, San Francisco. She joined JSPN Editorial Board in October 2006. Her primary interests are pain assessment and management for acutely and chronically ill infants and children, family-centered care, and quality and safety of health care.

Scientific Inquiry - Column Editor: Lauren Clark, RN, PhD, FAAN

Lauren Clark is Professor at the University of Utah College of Nursing and Director of the PhD Program. She joined the JSPN Editorial Board in 2008. Her primary interests are public health programs for infants and children, particularly immigrant and Latino children, research ethics with vulnerable populations of children, and cultural competence in the nursing care of minority children and families.

Ask the Expert - Column Editor: Martin Schiavenato, PhD, RN

Martin Schiavenato received his undergraduate and master's degrees from Florida State University. He earned his PhD in Nursing from the University of Central Florida with a focus in Innovative Technologies. Dr. Schiavenato's laboratory applies novel tools to interpret physiologic and behavioral signals including facial expressions in an attempt to decipher the presence and intensity of pain in humans who are unable to communicate it. He is Associate Professor at Washington State University College of Nursing and Scholar in Residence at Providence Health and Services.
