Introduction: The hallmark of Perspectives in Psychiatric Care is its focus on advanced practice psychiatric nursing care and all the associated aspects of this. While the journal offers manuscripts dealing with research, education, and clinical practice, this first virtual issue will be a composite of excellent manuscripts focused primarily on clinical management. As we move into 2010 the need for psychiatric nurses who know how to care for patients with complex problems and diagnostic profiles continues worldwide. While advanced practice nurses need to understand the medically driven issues of diagnosis, pharmacology, and cutting edge treatments, they also must know and understand the most current nursing care strategies for helping patients recover. This virtual issue of PPC is aimed at giving you even more tools to use in your nursing practice.
