JLACA accepts articles of no more than 8,000 words for consideration for publication, including references and footnotes. Articles of substantially more than this may be returned. The author must be anonymous on every page of the manuscripts except the title page. Authors are urged to consider carefully the use of running headers which may identify them and self-references within the text. JLACA accepts proposals for Dossiers. These must be submitted to the Editor and includes a brief overview of the proposed Dossier as well as abstracts for all articles that wish to be included for consideration.
When a manuscript is accepted for publication, the author(s) should send by email a signed copyright form (located in the Scholar One site) in PDF format to the Journal. The Journal follows the AAA style guide: http://www.aaanet.org/publications/guidelines.cfm. All articles must be submitted in Times New Roman font, double spaced and with a one inch (2.54 cm) margin all around the page. Photographs: Up to three photographs may be included in the article and it is the author’s responsibility for securing copyright. The final decision on the inclusion of photographs lies with the editor. Authors are also invited to send more photographs for consideration for the front cover of the journal issue. It is journal policy to write all ethnic and racial designators such as black, white, mestizo, negro, cholo, indian, creole, mulato, and so on, in lower case.
