JHQ Publishes Special Issue: Safety Net Hospitals
The Journal for Healthcare Quality (JHQ) has joined forces with the National Association of Public Hospitals to produce the first-ever special issue on safety net hospitals. The March/April issue features nine articles using case studies containing data that demonstrates improvement, such as pre- and post-intervention data or comparison to control, and clearly identifies the limitations and generalization of findings. This special issue provides a forum for healthcare professionals to dialogue about the quality of care provided in safety net hospitals and systems and to learn about their efforts to reform the delivery of care in order to continually increase the quality and capacity for providing care to an increasing population post-reform.
The special issue will be the focus of a media event at the Press Club in Washington D.C. on March 15. The press conference will feature a panel of speakers from special issue hospitals, moderated by Dr. Bruce Siegel of NAPH and JHQ Editor-in-Chief Maulik Joshi.
JHQ Backfiles Now Online!
The National Association for Healthcare Quality and Wiley-Blackwell are pleased to announce that issues back to 1980 are now online at Wiley Online Library. Fully searchable and link-enabled, backfiles restore a crucial connection with past material, freeing researchers from the limitations of fragile print issues and partial perspectives. Backfile issues are integrated with current online journal content, online books, databases, and reference works and offer the same flexible search, retrieval and printing capabilities. Additional links connect with external content issued by hundreds of other publishers via CrossRef as well as PubMed, ISI Web of Science, CAS, and other major A&I services. Links transport users to related material published both before and after the citing article. Members can log in to the secure member page at www.nahq.org for unrestricted access all issues back to 1980. Other subscribers can go directly to the JHQ login page at Wiley Online Library to access their subscription, including all back issues.
