Virtual Issue on Promising Interventions and Intervention Strategies for Childhood Obesity

I am pleased to introduce our second “Virtual Volume” in Pediatric Obesity. This follows up from our inaugural virtual issue from earlier in 2012 on the topic of maternal-fetal programming. In this current virtual issue we highlight 14 papers from 2011 and 2012 that have presented promising results from obesity interventions or promising novel approaches for obesity prevention and/or treatment. These interventions cover the spectrum of age and stage of development (from pre-school to adolescence), location of intervention delivery (schools, clinics, communities), and from health behaviors to pharmaceutical intervention. I hope you find these papers useful for your research and teaching efforts, and I look forward to circulating future virtual volumes in selected topics.
