Thomas PoguntkeThomas Poguntke is Professor of Comparative Politics at the Heinrich-Heine University Düsseldorf and Director of the Düsseldorf Party Research Institute (PRuF). He graduated from LSE, holds a PhD from the EUI, completed his professorial thesis (Habilitation) at Mannheim University and has previously held chairs at the universities of Keele, Birmingham and Bochum. He was series editor of the Routledge/ECPR Studies in European Political Science and is author and editor of numerous publications including Parteiorganisation im Wandel (Westdeutscher Verlag 2000) and The Presidentialization of Politics. A Comparative Study of Modern Democracies (Oxford University Press 2005; with Paul Webb).

Benjamin von dem BergeBenjamin von dem Berge is a lecturer at the University of Düsseldorf. He graduated from the University of Mannheim and joined the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (MZES) as a researcher in 2008, where he worked on a major project on the Eastern enlargement of Europarties. He has published in the European Political Science Review, SpringerBriefs in Political Science, the Handbook of Party Research (in German) and others. The main focus of his research is on political parties and party systems with an emphasis on European integration and transition processes.
