Krzysztof JasiewiczKrzysztof Jasiewicz is currently the William P. Ames, Jr. Professor and Head of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. He received his MA from Warsaw University (1972) and his Ph.D. from the Polish Academy of Sciences (1976). In the 1990s he was the director of electoral studies at the Institute for Political Studies in Warsaw. His recent publications include articles in the Journal of Democracy, Communist and Post-Communist Studies, Problems of Post-Communism, and East European Politics and Societies, as well as chapters in edited volumes, in English and in Polish.

   Agnieszka JasiewiczBetkiewicz Agnieszka Jasiewicz-Betkiewicz is currently an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Sociology at Warsaw University. She received her MA in 1998 and her Ph.D. in 2003, both from Warsaw University. Her recent publications include articles on the recruitment of political elites in Regional and Local Studies. She is currently working on two projects, one on political leadership in the largest Polish cities and another on methodological issues of survey research.
