Recent advances and trends in the biomimetic iron‐catalyzed asymmetric epoxidation
-  25 February 2021
Abstract
Chiral epoxides stand as a powerful tool in the fabrication of chiral organic compounds, which are crucial for synthesizing pharmaceuticals. Iron complexes having ligands with nitrogen and oxygen donors gained prime attention nowadays. Both nonheme and porphyrin biomimetic iron catalysts have been found as significant due to their broad number of examples of substrates with excellent enantioselectivity.

Abstract
A new tetradentate Schiff base ligand and its six cadmium(II) complexes formulated as CdLX2 in which X is Cl, Br, I, NO3, NCS, or N3 were synthesized and identified. Hirshfeld surface and computational structure analysis were applied for evaluation of intermolecular interactions in the solid state. Antimicrobial activity and DNA cleavage potential of the compounds were screened by the well diffusion technique.

One‐pot self‐assembly and photoreduction synthesis of silver nanoparticle‐decorated reduced graphene oxide/MIL‐125(Ti) photocatalyst with improved visible light photocatalytic activity

Abstract
The Ag nanoparticles (NPs) decorated reduced graphene oxide/MIL‐125(Ti) photocatalyst was synthesized by one‐pot self‐assembly and photoreduction. The superior photocatalytic performance was ascribed to the indirect dye photosensitization, the Ag nanoparticles localized surface plasmon resonance, the Ti3+–Ti4+ intervalence electron transfer and the synergistic effect among MIL‐125(Ti), Ag NPs and reduced grapheme oxide (rGO). Ag NPs served as an efficient “electron reservoir” and rGO as an electron transporter and collector.
Current Applications of Suzuki–Miyaura Coupling Reaction in The Total Synthesis of Natural Products: An update
-  19 January 2018
Abstract
Suzuki‐Miyaura Coupling Reaction (SMCR) has been extensively used in the total synthesis of natural products. SMCR is an organic reaction, classified as an important cross coupling reaction, where the coupling partners are an appropriate boronic acid and a suitable organohalide, catalyzed by a palladium(0) complex. In this review, we try to underscore the current developments in the applications of SMCR as a key and strategic step (steps) in the total synthesis of natural products, published from 2012 till date.

Abstract
Three new Cu (II), Pd (II) and Ag (I) complexes with bidentate Schiff base ligand 2‐[(4‐chlorobenzylidene)amino] phenol were synthesized and characterized. The optimized geometry parameters were evaluated and the total energy of HOMO and LUMO, Mullikan atomic charges, dipole moment, orientation and nonlinear optical properties are discussed. The investigated complexes were tested for their antimicrobial and anticancer activities. The obtained results were confirmed by docking and DNA interaction studies.
