Diversity, Equity & Inclusion statement

International Journal of Social Welfare is committed to providing an inclusive conversation on contemporary social welfare issues. We publish scholarship that pursues to present the richness and multiplicity of the human experience in various contexts regionally and globally. Toward this goal, we aim to embody diverse study samples characterized by race, ethnicity, gender identity, nationality, socioeconomic status, religion, among others. We seek authors from different institutional affiliations, diverse social identities and locations, and different stages of their professional careers. We especially encourage scholars from groups often marginalized and historically underrepresented (e.g., race, ethnicity, gender identity, nationality, or other protected or marginalized characteristics). We challenge inequity and strive for inclusion and respect. As a starting point, we encourage authors to adopt bias-free languages such as those provided by the American Psychological Association.
