Copper‐Catalyzed Ring‐Opening Hydrosilylation and Hydroboration of Arylidenecyclopropanes
-  11 November 2024
Graphical Abstract
The synthesis of homoallylic silanes and boronates has been successfully achieved via copper-catalyzed hydrosilylation and hydroboration reactions of ACPs. The methodology established offers significant advantages in terms of high stereo- and chemoselectivity. The copper catalytic system demonstrates a wide substrate scope for both hydrosilylation and hydroboration reactions of arylidenecyclopropanes.
Enhancing Oxygen Reduction Reaction Electrocatalytic Performance of Nickel-Nitrogen-Carbon Catalysts through Coordination Environment Engineering†
-  8 November 2024
Graphical Abstract
The design and development of efficient bifunctional electrocatalysts for fuel cells and rechargeable metal-air batteries have become increasingly urgent. In this study, our investigation reveals that NiN3H2 consistently exhibits optimal ORR activity across a wide pH range, regardless of the source of proton-electron pair (solvent or catalyst surface).
Metal-Free Nitration of Indazoles with tert-Butyl Nitrile in Air to Prepare 3-Nitroindazoles and 3-Aminoindazoles
-  8 November 2024
Graphical Abstract
A variety of 3-nitroindazoles and 3-aminoindazoles were prepared in good to excellent yields with high regioselectivity through TBN-mediated nitration at the C3-position of indazoles under the air conditions and sequential reduction. The 3-aminoindazole products could be obtained in gram scales without column chromatography.
Electrochemical Synthesis of Alkenylsulfonates from Alkynes, NaHSO3 and Alcohols
-  7 November 2024
Graphical Abstract
An electrochemical reaction involving alkynes, NaHSO3, and alcohols has been developed. This method yields functionalized alkenylsulfonates in good yields with broad functional group tolerance. Mechanism studies indicate that anodic oxidation of inorganic sulfite, radical insertion process, and HAT process are involved in this transformation.
Repurposing Naturally Occurring Enzymes Using Visible Light
-  4 November 2024
Graphical Abstract
Repurposing naturally occurring enzymes with visible light represents one of the most exciting avenues for developing new enzyme reactivity. This Emerging Topic highlights seminal work in reshaping various classes of enzymes, categorized under three mechanistic scenarios: excitation of enzymatic EDA complexes, visible-light excitation of flavoproteins, and synergistic dual photo-enzyme catalysis.
