Abstract

Low‐grade inflammation is a mechanistic link between obesity and cardiometabolic disorders. We utilized longitudinal data from the Bogalusa Heart Study to examine the associations of cumulative burden and trajectory measures of body weight from childhood with chronic inflammation in adulthood.

Characteristics of pediatric inpatients with primary and secondary hypertension

Abstract

This retrospective study determined the proportion of primary versus secondary hypertension (HTN) in the pediatric inpatients was 1:2.2. Most children with primary HTN had obesity‐related comorbidities. In patients with secondary HTN, renal diseases were the leading causes.
