Computational Methods for Large-Scale Nonlinear Problems
Guest Editors: Poom Kumam & Jesùs Vigo Aguiar

It is undoubted that mathematical problems in the last decade grew remarkably larger due to both the advances in the technology as well as the ability to generate and collect data. This has allowed us to obtain highly realistic empirical models. As a consequence, the vast availability of the data reveals several difficulties in solving the problems caused by the high nonlinearity, dimensionality and complexity. This challenges several researchers to develop new computational methods that are capable of handling such complication. This Special Issue is calling for the novel contributions in Computational Methods for Large-Scale Nonlinear Problems which includes almost any methods of HPC as well as interesting applications to computer science, data science and machine learning, economics, finance, physical and life sciences, engineerings and medicine.

Recent Trends in the Computational and Mathematical Methods of Fractional Calculus
Guest Editors: Jorge Macias-Diaz & Dumitru Baleanu

The theory of fractional-order integro-differential operators (fractional calculus, for short) has been one of those areas in mathematics which has undergone a tremendous development in the last decades. Indeed, various fractional derivatives have been introduced in the literature to extend the traditional calculus and to provide more accurate descriptions of processes in physics, chemistry and biology. From the analytic point of view, the theory of fractional-order integro-differential operators has contributed decisively to the development of other areas in mathematics, including ordinary and partial differential equations, numerical analysis, calculus of variations, optimization theory. From a more pragmatic point of view, some important applications of fractional calculus have been found in physics, biology, chemistry and engineering, and new applications are frequently proposed to other areas of the sciences and to the development of new technology. Needless to mention that the speed at which this area expands is vertiginous.

Linear Algebra, Matrix Analysis and Applications
Guest Editors: Luca Bergamaschi, Fernando de Teran & Pedro Alonso

Mathematical modelling of problems arising in engineering, physics, mechanics, etc. leads in many cases, directly or after a discretization process to solving systems of linear equations of finite dimension. Besides, other problems of Numerical Analysis, such as approximation, interpolation, nonlinear systems, computation of eigenvalues, etc., lead to the resolution of large systems. Thus, it is essential to develop efficient numerical Linear Algebra methods, in both sequential and parallel environments, to solve them. The main purpose of this Special Issue is to collect the most recent methods for solving such problems and applications from a multidisciplinary approach.

New Trends about Iterative Processes for Solving Nonlinear problems
Guest Editors: A. Cordero, J. R. Torregrosa, I. K. Argyros & J. Vigo-Aguiar

The main theme of this Special Issue, but not the only one, is the design, analysis of convergence and stability, and application to practical problems of new iterative schemes for solving nonlinear equations. This includes methods with and without memory, with derivatives or derivative-free, the real or complex dynamics associated to them, and an analysis of their convergence that can be local, semilocal or global.
