Structural Chemistry - Acta Crystallographica Section C publishes exciting science with structural content, especially results related to the chemical sciences. We are the journal of choice for research facilitated by the determination, calculation or analysis of structures of any type, other than macromolecular structures. We encourage authors to include mainstream science in their papers and produce well-rounded scientific contributions that appeal to a broad community of readers and increase authors’ profiles.

The crystal structures of methyl prop‐2‐ynoate, dimethyl fumarate and their protonated species

  •  9 December 2024

Graphical Abstract

The crystal structures of methyl prop-2-ynoate, dimethyl fumarate and their protonated species Issue ,

Methyl prop-2-ynoate and dimethyl fumarate have been crystallized, the former for the first time. The protonated species of both were isolated for the first time and identified by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy.

How to use DIALS to process chemical crystallography 3D ED rotation data from pixel array detectors

  •  6 December 2024

Graphical Abstract

How to use DIALS to process chemical crystallography 3D ED rotation data from pixel array detectors Issue ,

Three examples of data processing of chemical crystallography 3D ED rotation data using the DIALS package are presented. These examples are taken from a standard transmission electron microscope, and from two commercial instruments, each equipped with a low-noise pixel array detector optimized for diffraction studies.

Graphical Abstract

Construction of pyridine-functionalized metal–organic frameworks for the detection of flazasulfuron Issue 12, 2024

The photophysical properties of two novel Cu-based metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) were investigated by fluorescence spectroscopy. One of the MOFs shows an obvious `turn-on' fluorescence enhancement effect towards flazasulfuron and the potential application for sensing flazasulfuron in water with high selectivity and sensitivity was also investigated in detail.
