All articles accepted and published in Epilepsia Open are fully Open Access: immediately freely available to read, download and share. 

Submissions will be subject to an APC if accepted and published in the journal: $2,700 USD / £1,800 GBP / €2,500 EUR

Society Members: $2,025 USD / £1,350 GBP / €1,875 EUR

Junior researchers and corresponding authors from LMIC may also be eligible for automatic article publication charge waivers and discounts in this journal, if they have no other funding available. Junior researchers are defined as corresponding authors of less than 35 years of age at the time of submission, if there is no other funding (research funding of the junior investigator or his/her research mentor, Wiley Open Access Institutional Agreement). Requests for APC waivers for APC-eligible articles should be directed to the Editor-in-Chief ([email protected]) only prior to or upon submission of the article. 

Automatic article publication charge waivers and discounts will be given to authors from countries on the Waivers and Discounts List. Authors should submit a waiver or discount request during the submission of their article.

Authors who receive funding from an agency or institution with a Wiley Open Access Account do not pay directly. The charge is paid by the institution or funder. Authors whose institutions have paid the Wiley Open Access partner fee are eligible for a discount on the APC and, on acceptance, the discounted fee is payable by the author. The journal does not charge any submission fees or page charges.

Taxes on Publication Charges

The prices quoted do not include any value-added tax (VAT), goods and services tax (GST), or other sales taxes. Tax may be charged in addition to the price shown where required by law. The amount of tax charged will be calculated at the point of sale and identified separately.

If you have a VAT, GST, or other sales tax identification number, you should provide this when requested.

Epilepsia Open is an Open Access journal: authors of accepted articles pay an article publication charge, and their articles are published under a Creative Commons license.

Mandated authors must use the CC BY-NC Creative Commons License; all other authors can choose between the CC-BY or CC BY-NC-ND Creative Commons Licenses.
