Purpose:

The purpose of the Mega Map is to provide easy access to the available evidence on the effectiveness of interventions to improve the child well-being in Low- and-Middle-Income countries (LMICs).
What do the map include:

This Mega Map includes only systematic reviews and other Evidence and Gap Maps (EGMs). The Mega Map is based on a systematic search for studies published between 2000 and March 2018. This map shows the coverage of 333 systematic reviews and 23 EGMs.
How to read the map:

In the map the rows are intervention categories and the columns are outcome domains. The cells of the table contain a 'bubble' whose size is proportional to the number of studies reporting that outcome for that intervention. There are separate bubbles for systematic review quality, as assessed using the AMSTAR-2 tool. Red color bubbles indicated 'low confidence' systematic reviews, orange indicate ‘medium confidence’ and green ‘high confidence’ systematic reviews. Blue colored bubbles are indicative of EGMs. We did not rated the confidence in findings for EGMs.

The map has four version Bubble, heat, donut and mosaic which are self-explanatory. Clicking on a cell gives a list of studies corresponding to an intervention and outcomes for that cell. Click on a study in the list to get publication details, relevant summaries and URL to access the study itself.

The map includes a set of filters; World Bank regions, population, publication status and funding agencies allowing evidence to be shown just for the selected filter. To use this, click the setting tab ‘Filters’ on the top-left of the map. The various categories (filters) can be scrolled down and checked for selection. Once all the relevant filters have been selected, click on ‘Update’.

This Mega Map also identifies key ‘gaps’, cells which do not have any bubbles, indicates there no evidence from systematic reviews in those areas. We also provided short summaries of the included systematic reviews indication primarily the information on interventions and headline finding with link to original source to the study.
