Language teaching with corpora, large electronic collections of texts, has been found effective and efficient. How can corpora be more broadly incorporated into teaching practice, especially for learners of languages other than English, at lower proficiency levels, and in secondary schools? What open educational resources can help teachers?

Seal of Biliteracy (SoBL) implementation varies greatly and is shaped by the individuals involved. What do administrators see as the value of the SoBL? How do administrators' perceptions converge or diverge with the perceptions of linguistically diverse students? These questions illuminate how to maximize the potential of the SoBL.

The Challenge

Language educators and researchers can play a significant role in promoting the benefits of language learning and bi-/multilingualism. How can we position the empirical research to accurately and clearly inform students and their families, school administrators, and policy makers at the local, state, and national levels to value an embrace language learning by funding and supporting language across the lifespan?
