Die Bestimmung von BET-Oberflächen und Adsorptionsisothermen mittels Stickstoff bei 77 K ist derzeit noch ein verbreitetes Verfahren zur texturellen Charakterisierung poröser und feindisperser Feststoffe. Aus wissenschaftlicher Sicht jedoch ist das Edelgas Argon als Adsorptiv besser geeignet. Lesen Sie in diesem Heft, warum Argonisothermen bei 87 K die korrektere Grundlage für die adsorptive Charakterisierung mikro-/mesoporöser und feindisperser Festkörper darstellen. Außerdem wird beschrieben, wie es mittels einer Nachrüst-Option („Cryotune”) für nahezu alle Sorptionsgeräte möglich ist, bei der Siedetemperatur von Argon (87 K) zu messen und als Kühlmittel flüssigen Stickstoff zu verwenden.

Die Flüssig/Flüssig-Extraktion zur Gewinnung von Indium aus sulfatischen sauren Lösungen mit einem niedrigen Phasenverhältnis von VO/VA = 1:10 wird für die Reagenzien Cyanex 272, DEHPA und Cyanex 923 untersucht. Die Extraktionsmittel Cyanex 272 und DEHPA erwiesen sich als geeignet, Cyanex 923 dagegen nicht.

Für die Auslegung von Blasensäulenreaktoren ist die Aufklärung lokaler fluiddynamischer Phänomene von Bedeutung. Mit der Gittersensor-Messtechnik kann die lokale Phasenverteilung und Blasengrößenverteilung über den Kolonnenquerschnitt in zeitlich hoher Auflösung erfasst werden. Die Genauigkeit eines Leitfähigkeits-Gittersensors bei der Bestimmung von Blasengrößen wird bewertet.
