Front Cover. Artemisia blepharolepis, a plant recognized for its role in windbreak and sand fixation in northwestern China, has emerged as a source of medicinal innovation. The article numbered e202401772 by Jianguo Cao, Guozheng Huang, and their colleagues, reports the isolation of a novel chlorinated sesquiterpenoid named ablepharolide from this plant. Ablepharolide is characterized by a rare structure featuring a 4-methyl-7-isopropyl-9-ethyl-perhydroindene skeleton and the presence of a chlorine atom. This compound not only contributes to the chemical diversity of natural products but also exhibits a potent ability to induce apoptosis, particularly in MCF-7 breast cancer cells (see https://doi.org/10.1002/cbdv.202401772).
